The “Climate Fresk” name is rooted in its French origins of ” Fresque du Climat”. This translates to ” Climate Frescoe ” in English, or as I put it more simply , ” Climate Puzzle “.
A ” Fresk” has become a new English term representing the action of piecing together a scientific story by placing information cards on a table, while collaborating on which cause leads to what consequence. Add to that expressing emotions and ideas for action.
Facilitators are ” freskers “, who ” fresk”. Yes, its a thing. There are nearly 90 000 freskers worldwide in June 2025 in fact. Those are individuals, whether concerned citizens, employees, educators or students, who trained to facilitate the workshop.
